Service Description

Oakwood Learning Center is offering an early childhood development class from 9:00am to 11:00am for 2 and 3 year olds. The Fall session runs from September 14, 2026 to December 18, 2026. Sessions will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. You can pick the number of days you would like to register for. The class will be limited in size so individual attention can be given to each student. Lessons and activities will be age appropriate and thought provoking, focusing on fine motor skills, movement, and spatial awareness. Students will also work on socialization and cooperative learning with their peers in a warm and nurturing environment. Virginie Ligot will be leading the class along with Melissa Schnappauf. Together they bring a wealth of experience to the classroom. Virginie has taught French, Spanish, yoga, and mindfulness at the preschool level and Melissa has taught Creative Drama to all ages. Virginie Ligot, Teacher Virginie Ligot has taught world languages and yoga to preschoolers since 2018 at The Rumson Country Day School, Gan Yeladim Preschool, and Oakwood Learning Center all located in Rumson, NJ. She holds a B.A. in World Languages from the Institut Supérieur de Traducteurs et Interprètes in Brussels. While working as a court translator in Belgium, her birthplace, Virginie became a world traveler and has lived on three different continents. After spending time in India, she trained as a Hatha yoga instructor, specializing in mindfulness and emotional learning. This subsequently led her to become a certified Laughter Yoga instructor. Virginie primarily works with Nursery-1st grade students to instill the passion of languages and mindfulness from an early age. It is her belief that these are essential tools to enhance communication within ourselves, our community, and beyond. Choose your day(s)!
